Mustang GT Crushes Import Cars During Rev Battle

By -

Not only can the 5.0 Coyote perform wonders on the track, it can also crank out some serious decibels at a rev battle, too.

Race Wars is a car show and lifestyle type of event that may not be the wheelhouse for the majority of our Mustang Forums members, but we stumbled upon this video recently and just had to share it. Why, you ask? Well, what’s better than a Mustang crashing a party intended for import cars, and letting them know their place on the food chain.

Most of the beginning part of the video simply explains what Race Wars is all about, and the action starts at about the four-minute mark. Rev battle classes are divided up by cylinder count, with the four-bangers going first, buzzing away. Then the six-cylinder cars have their chance. Finally, the V8s are given the stage.

Slammed trucks seemed to be quite popular with the V8 rev battle, but two cars stood out: a wildly tubbed Camaro, and a Mustang 5.0 called “DarkKngt.” While the Camaro had a lopey and intimidating idle, it was the Mustang that was far, far louder. Just one problem, it actually was so loud in the video, that the noise actually becomes distorted from the mic pick up. We’ll just take that as an additional bonus on top of the win.

What does all this prove? That the Coyote 5.0 is not only one of the best for performance under the hood, but it’s also the best for making some beautiful American V8 freedom noises.

Since we enjoy V8 noises quite a lot around here, now would be the best time to share your V8 exhaust videos. Of course, we won’t limit it to just Coyote power, as engines throughout the Mustang’s many years all sounded great. If you want to share, tell us a bit about your setup, and lets rev some engines!
