New ‘Lethal Weapon’ Mustang Meme Is an Instant Classic

Mustang memes aren’t exactly brand-new phenomena. Well, as far as memes go.

But the one above that we stumbled upon at Jalopnik — which they’re calling “The Ultimate Ford Mustang Meme” — is definitely worth sharing. The GIF shows a red Mustang tumbling through and over a tire barricade.

As you can see in the video below, the wild, high-flying acrobatic clip is from the new TV reboot of the hit movie franchise Lethal Weapon, which stars Damon Wayans and Charles Baker.

Personally, I would have opted for a new Mustang to star in the franchise reboot. The S-197 sort of dates the trailer, if you ask me.

Then again, who wants to see a brand-new red Mustang get totally demolished? Certainly no true fan of the pony car. So, if Fox is hoping to cash in on that huge demo for their Lethal Weapon reboot, perhaps wrecking the older Mustang is a smart move.
