To say the Ford Mustang is a name with history would hilariously undersell its importance. For over 50 years, the Mustang has helped define affordable performance and American attitude. Now the team at Donut Media have worked up a stunning little video that shows the evolution and growth of America’s favorite pony car. It covers almost everything, from the first 1964 ½ model all the way up to the 2018 Mustang GT.
The video doesn’t hit every single year or trim, but it makes sure to hit the important changes and historically significant models. Machines like the ’65 Shelby GT350, ’69 Mach 1, the 5.0 Fox Body fastback from 1989, and the early ’90s notchback are all represented.
This look also covers more than style. With each car, we’re given curb weights, horsepower, and wheelbase measurements. We also get a special bit of information that highlights iconic features or people associated with certain models. For example, the ’65 Shelby is noted for its Cobra nickname and it’s three consecutive SCCA Championships.
