Oh ok I see what you meant now. I'm thinking a clear coat would be nice under the hood though.

Wow, those did clean up nice. Are you happy with your valve covers or would you go with polished as well. I'm still trying to decide which I want to do.
I'm happy with the painted valve covers. I really thought about polished v/c's but decided to paint just because it's alot cheaper for me to do ($0). I mixed up the paint to do my mirrors and decided to to the plenum cover and v/c's at the same time. Maybe later I'll do the chrome or polished.

That brings up another question I have been meaning to ask. Is there anydifference between chrome and polished?? If so, is it one of those things where if you had some chrome and some polished pieces you would be able to tell a difference in the look?? I've always wondered about that, nice job on the valve covers by the way!

You will be able to see the difference between the chrome and polish, chrome is brighter, and it's also sooooooo much easier to take care of.

Thanks

So if you have say a polished SC, chrome vlave covers, chrome hoses, and stainless steel radiator/fuse box cover.....is that going to look bad?? Is there really that big of difference in the finish? That would make me think twice about doing all I had planned. HELP!

No it's not going to look bad but there is a difference with how reflective they are. I've seen alot of cars at shows with both chrome and polished pieces and it still looks great. The only thing I hate about polished is just keeping it up, it's a little more work than chrome. I wouldn't loose any sleep over it, I'm sure it will look awesome.

so how do you take care of a polished finish differently than chrome....does it just require more polishing to keep shiny.

Yeah you'll just need to polish it a little more.

Cool, I can handle that. I have this sick obsession with washing, drying, waxing, polishing, dusting, sweeping, well you get the point, I like cleaning it! Thanks for your input. I'll be sure to post picswhen I get it finished.
