Default Painting 06 V6 rockers vs. buying GT takeoff's

I don't really like the black plastic look of the stock rocker pannels. I was wondering, would be easier to just have mine painted at a local shop than pay for take-offs?I can always go around town to ask but i wanted toknow if anyoneon herehas any advise. (on v6mustangstuff.com its $130 with shipping to mefor takeoff's)

Some guys on here have had it painted.

I personally don't mind the plastic piece for two reasons, don't have to worry about rocks chipping the paint there and the Shelby has it.....but hey, it's your car and if you don't like it, try getting it painted first.

I think it might be cheaper to buy it v6mustangstuff... might cost like $200-300 to get them professionally painted

A few months ago, I bought a GT takeoff spoiler. My car is Vista Blue and the spoiler is Satin Silver. So I called my local Ford Dealer just to see how much they would charge to paint the spoiler not on the car.......$150.00! To me that is highway robbery! I mean geez.....I know they have to sand and prep it, but were they going to put Gold Mounts on it too?

I still haven't decided yet if I want to change the '07 PP Spoiler to the GT one. Advantage for having the GT is you can actually clean under the spoiler. Disadvantage, looks like most other stangs.

i do my own paint and to buy all the equipment and materials to paint parts yourself your into about a $700-1000. sooooooo with that in mind the question is how much painting are you going to do that its worth your while to do it yourself or just pay the man. mechanical work is the same way. i have about 10K in tools. if you ammoratize that over the life of your hobby you may brake even vs paying someone to do it for you. i say you have a lot more pride in your ride if you do all your own work.

I have thought about taking a class next month in Body Shop Repair. I've always wanted to paint cars.
