My Soultion to New TruFiber Venom Hood w/ Hood Pin Recessions
Hey everyone,
Some people wanted to see how this turned out. Well, here is what I came up with for the new style Venom hood with recessions for the hood pins. I had to design this and then machined it out. I might end up powder coating it or something, but for now it works. The hardest part was getting the angle right for the hood pin when it comes down. I think it turned out pretty good.
Trying to show the action and the angle,
Anyway, if anyone has questions let me know.
Thanks,
Nick

The reason it was a PITA in my case is because the pins have to run parallel to the hood edges like the KR (or the 68) when they're closed down.
The job was on a GT500 cloned into a KR...
So, in that regard, the pin catcher shaft has to be indexed to the right direction in order to allow the pin button to end up parallel to the edges upon twist on/lock position.
Yours appears to be off, and it's no big deal since you're not duplicating the original...

Thanks everyone. This was not easy that's for sure, it took 2 tries, haha. Like you said Pascal, that damn angle was tough! Yeah mine pins aren't exactly parallel, but I'm ok with that not trying to duplicate the KR exactly only in some areas.
You think TruFiber could have come up with something before selling it to the public, but I understand they just deal with fiberglass and their product was top notch IMO. I am really happy with the hood and carbon fiber chin spoiler I got from them.

You can't blame Trufiber for not providing a pin kit with their hoods, but someone needs to step up to that task.
Not everyone fabricates like you and I...
