I also just pulled mine off took a little pressure but it came off if you pull from the outer edges and pull in a circle you should be able to pull off must of the double sided tape I used Adhesive remover to remove the glue and the I used some polishing compound and wax and it cleaned up really well. hope this helps.

Yea, try just pulling it off directly.
Nice slow steady even pressure slowly increasing the pressure
until the adhesive starts to let go around the edge and pull her off.
Otherwise the braided kevlar fishing line is the best.
