Hard to answer, but I would assume the tape is subject to similar heat with the engine heating the hood and the sun beating down on the hood in August anyway. I don't think it would really be affected. That 3M stuff is really really tough so long as the paint was super clean and they used adhesion promotor.

Besides, there should be screws to hold a hood scoop...

i think the hesat would make it less secure but would could allways use some sort of silicone but i also tought of this but i really dont wanna cut my hood
