The 'splice in' kits are notorious for compromizing the
watertightness integrity of the taillight housings.
Not my cup O tea.
The plug-n-play CDC Dynamite Sticks are the best around.
I just went thru a sheitload of trouble with the web electric
sequentials I got for my 09 Challenger. I had to modify them
to get them to work correctly.
Had to send them back for reprogramming and then get
replacement output transistors as well....
But they will work with you until hell freezes over......

Well, I decided to go with the meter4it chaser option. Sequential is good, Chase is better!
they are now offering (in limited number) a plug and play option. No splicing wires for me, thanks.
Not the cheapest option, but it worked on the first try.

I have the Meter4it kit. Did the splice in option because I have no problem with re-wiring and soldering or any of that fun jazz.
As for the water-tight worry. Just hit up Radio Shack and get liquid electrical tape. Regular electrical tape can possibly get water in there, or at least moisture. Liquid electrical tape you paint it on and it bonds for a watertight seal. Perfect cheap solution as a can of that stuff is like $5 and lasts forever. It's like a tire sealant.
Here is how the Chase sequence looks, it blows the ***** off all the others.
