Default Small rut spots on driver door well.

Noticed very small rust spots developing on lower driver door car-side well outside of where it says MUSTANG on the sill as you open the door. I am very meticulous

Any techniques/tips for getting rid of this now (Asap) and protecting going forward?

It is a 2006 Satin Sliver GT with 11,000 miles in South Florida.

Thanks for any advice, techniques, products or links!

I would clean off the rust real good and paint it with some touch up. Ive had to tough up two spot already on my inner fenders from whatver, luckily I caught them before they rust.

What would I use to clean the spots? Something from an auto supply store (hopefully)?

Fine sandpaper (where to get)?

I know i can get touch up paint at the dealer.

My biggest concern is how to clean the - they are very small - size of a pin head - without specialized equipment or tools.

Thanks!

Can you take some pictures of the affected area? It would help to see so the pros on here can help you.

If its small i would jsut fold up some sand paper and use a corner to sand off the rust then wipe it down and put on some touch up paint.

Exactlly what i was thinking. My only question is (probably for pascal?) What grade of sandpaper? Anything you would put on before/after the touch up paint?

Unfortunately, I am leaving today for an Open House event at UCF (Orlando, FL) for my son. I will miss him more than I can express when he leaves.... So - I won't have pics til next week.

It is basically, 6-7 small (pin head size) rust-looking spots on the bottom inside of the driver door well. I don't think it has penetrated very much yet - but when I rub/scrape them with my fingernail, not all comes off...

Thanks again for any tips or help.

Note: I just really need a "quick fix" as maybe I will be trading the car based on my son's college plans - It is a 2006 GT Premium 5-spd Convertible (Satin Silver/Black) with only 10,550 miles on it.

Thanks!!!!
