What color valve covers on Windveil Blue GT
#71
I just spoke with a local shop today and was quoted $200 to powder coat a set. That seems crazy expensive to me as I am sure I was quoted much less about a year ago by a couple of different shops. There is another local shop I'm going to call tomorrow but it that's a realistic cost, I may just sell the covers I have and buy a set of the FRPP covers.

Midwest Auto Gear has them. And thanks for the compliments guys. Also I paid $60 the first time, I wanted the old 60's Ford dark blue and it came out way too light so then he was gonna paint them postal blue or some sh*t and I said forget it, took them somewhere else and paid $60 again for black. My luck, paid twice what I had to. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I have a set of red powdercoated valve covers that I bought on Ebay. My wife thinks I should just use those but I'm not too sure about Red with Windveil. I got them so cheap though I thought I could either have them media blasted and powdercoated in some other color or just have them painted another color over the powder. Will probably have some airbrush work done as well but really need to decide a base color. Any thoughts on red?
I was going to suggest Red anyway!

I had mine powdercoated gold for the retro factor and because I didn't want too much blue in the engine bay. Cost was $125 and I had to bead blast them. I also had a plenum cover painted blue and painted the raised areas on it gold. The unpainted valve covers seem to oxidize badly with black streaks, it looks hideous, so I recommend painting or coating them.
