Question 245/45-18 Tires on 9" Wide Rims - Possible??

I am currently running 18x10 Roush rims with Coopers Zeon 2XS 275/40-18 tires. I am looking at getting new wheels but want to keep the 275's for the rear and get new tires for the front. The rims I am looking at getting are the American Muscle GT4 18x9 for the front and I want to get a set of tires for the front that will match the rears look and brand.

Coopers only offers the Zeon 2XS in either a 245/45 or 255/35, and the 245 matches the sidewall width of the 275's so I am leaning towards that size. My concern is that on Coopers site they state the 245/45 is good for 7.5-9.0" wide rims. Am I pushing it too much to put this tires on this rim?

I am really wanting to keep the coopers, as performance tires in Canada seem to be relly expensive, and I would really just want to get the fronts only, and then I would have 2 sets of rears to use.

Hopefully someone can help me on this.

Sean

245 or 255 on a 9" rim will work fine. I'm doing 18x9's with 265's in the rear and 17x9's with 245's in the front.

It will look funny IMO.
Too much rim will stick out.
I would go 255 minimum.

Here's a 275 on a 9' rim... it's on a 17 wheel but you get the idea.

Yes, I would have to agree with you about 275's. But I am looking at 245's in a 9" rim.
