Default Need a new hood, hehe.

Ok, guys. So I have that TSB issue where my hood is corroding on the front and rear lips. It started with a little paint bubbling...now the paint has peeled off. Looks like ****.

I'm not going to waste my time having it re-painted only to have the corrosion come back, so I'm taking this opportunity to get a new hood. My hood has an OEM hood scoop that the dealer installed, but I think I'm tired of scoops all together.

One hood I was looking at is the Cervini Eleanor, but how is that going to look on a totally white ride with no accentuating features to make it "stand out'? I don't want stripes...matter of fact, I really don't like ANY decals or flare on my cars whatsoever. I can't seem to find any pics that would give me an idea of what it will look like, so if anyone has any, please share. Thanks.

I was also looking at heat extractor hoods, the non-cowl variety, like this one:

It has a small rise (which is something I would like), but do not know much in the way of relocating my wipe fluid squirters, or whether or not having "vents" on the top of my hood is going to allow excess doses of dirt/water/pollen in the engine compartment. if anyone has any experience with this, please let me know.

LOL, I'm trying to get this done before it's no longer nice enough to drive her.

Thanks in advance.

The heat extractor hood looks nice!
It's ashamed Ford has swept this manufactures defect under the rug. Sure they will repair it at their costs IF you are still under warranty. I did get in before mine ran out, but I agree with you, I think over time the corrosion may come back. When it gets bad again, I'll replace it.

Yeah, no more warranty. The way I see it, it would be way cheaper to just buy a new hood and paint it one time than chancing having to continuously re-paint.
