Exclamation HID KITS need some technicle help

I have the Factory HID kit with my 08 Mustang and I want to up the Kelvin and make them brighter but the factory hid kit takes d3-s bulbs, now i cant find many, correction, i cant find any place that sells those bulbs in a different color or higher kelvin. so i was wondering if i dropped the money to buy a new hid kit with the color of my choice would those bulbs FIT the FACTORY HOUSING? For example if i bought a Bi-Xenon kit. Does anybody know the answer?

Hit me with some Knowledge.

Thanks.

Aren't the HID kit from Ford a special housing on the backside with the HID option from the factory? I believe so... otherwise you would need an H13 bulb on a factory headlight assembly from Ford.

I can't answer your question but I WILL state that you need to be sure that you know what you're doing by going higher in degrees K. Once you get past "white" (~4000-4500K), you begin to lose usable light. This is most noticeable in dark, foul weather (fog, rain, snow). Going to a higher K-rated bulb will NOT give you more light output or a "brighter" light.

The bluer/purpuler the light the less lumens it puts out. 4300k which is what most OEM hid's are will put out the most lumens of light. The one's in elipsoidal housings look more blue/purple althought they are the same white/yellowish light cuz of what the elipsoids do with the beam cutoff.

If you want more color, you're not getting more light.
