Default New Tire HELP

Im planning on getting these wheels from AM as soon as my budget allows it.

http://www.americanmuscle.com/machin...9x10-0510.html
http://www.americanmuscle.com/machin...19x8-9410.html

Im getting them in 19" with 10s on the back 2 wheels and the 8.5s on the front 2 wheels as per the recommendations given by AM. Now comes the part where i need help. AM suggests to use 275/40-19 tires for the wheels in the back and for the wheels in the front to use 245/45-19. I need to know from everyone what type of tires and what sizes to use to get a nice low profile look without my wheel wells having like 6 inch gaps. lol. Aside from lowering my car what would be my best bet. I probably will end up lowering in the future i just need to know what my options currently are with the budget im currently working with.

thanks

The size of the wheels along with PROPERLY sized tires won't change the OD that much from the OE tire OD to make any noticeable difference. If you go with a larger OD tire (and it would take MUCH larger to fill the tire wells), then you totally destroy your performance by f'ing up your overall gear ratio.

I'd go with AM's recommendations, despite the 1/2" larger than OE tire OD. Unfortunately, there aren't as many choices in tires in 19", plus with a 19" you lose even more sidewall (sidewall is sexy and simply looks MEAN) over the skimpy sidewall on 17's, let alone 18's.

To keep the OD as close to stock as possible (+/- 27"), I'd go with either a 245/40/18 or 255/40/18 up front and a 285/35/18 or 295/35/19 out back.

The 245/40/18 & 285/35/18 are both around 26.73".
The 255/40/18 & 295/35/18 are both going to be closer, if not just a tad taller than 27".

I got the same wheels, but staggered rim diameter as well as width...

Since I will not be lowering, I decided on going staggered with 18 x 9 wheels up front with 255/45/18s and 19 x 10 wheels on the rear with 275/40/19s. The front tires are 27.0" tall while the rears are 27.7" tall. This increase in the rear levels out the wheel gap and gives the car a slight rake and a nice stance IMO...

You won't find any internet company selling this combo, but I bought my rims from American Muscle and the tires from the Tire Rack (both outstanding companies!) and had the tires mounted locally. My car rides like stock and handling was greatly improved with the addition of Koni STR.T shocks and struts.

iAerials,

Great choice, the GT500 wheels are a great looking wheel!

Staggered is the way to go, they give you that Legendary Aggressive Mustang stance!

We have test fit every Wheel & Tire combo that we offer. During this process we found that 245/45 is the best fit for a 8.5in' wheel & 275/40 or 285 would be the best fitment for a 10in' wheel!

I'm sure you can get away with a few variations to this set up, however this is just what we recommend!

A great benefit to ordering Wheels & Tires from AM is we'll mount & balance & ship them out for free!

Let me know if you have any questions & thanks for choosing AM, we greatly appreciate it!

- Dan

If you do 19s all around and go with 245/45/19s and 275/40/19s, both tires have the same OD (27.7") and will fill out the wheel wells better (my rears are 275/40/19s). But having the same diameter tire front and back will cause you to have a much larger gap in the rear than in the front and will have the 4x4 look (which will be corrected if you lower).
