No, I meant if you constantly hit your rev limiter i'm sure problems would occur. The fact that it was your first time there should most certainly be no problems.

i was going from2nd to 3rd and i hit 1st instead lol.(first week i had it) my tires acually locked up.itwas just like pulling the e-brake with smoe extreme revving

 

When I was a young'in (*chews on gums*), my buddy and I were trying out his new (to him) Grand National--first V8 any of us had ever had. He did the same thing, only from 2nd, going WELL over 30...when he hit R it was the most god-aweful sound I ever heard a car make. The rear ires skipped/screeched/hopped all over the place, and the trans made a metal "CLANK/CLUNK/God help me! They're trying to kill me!" sort of sound. The car stalled, we just coasted to a halt...looking at each other with pure fear. Amazingly that bad-pup started right up and ran fine for another year before he sold it...can't imagine the new buyer didn't have issues down the road though.
