I scratched my rim.
I have the 05 opitional rims and was just starting to like them, when I decided to park close to the curb and scratched one. This was
done so I wouldn't pick up one of those famous dings on my door. *Hit they aren't perfect any more. I'm going to stop by the dealer
and see if that is covered on my warranty. I have a warranty on the wheels and rims. I already had to get a wheel replaced
because it had a nail in it. They wouldn't patch it . The horrible thing was I had to wait 2 weeks for a new tire because the 05s' were
new then (fall, 2004) and they didn't have them in stock.
Anyone else scratch theirs' yet?

RE: I scratched my rim.
I have the stock GT ones, last year on my way to Vancouver Island, I was driving onto the ferry, a ferry worker was right in front of me, guiding me in, and suddenly I here this SCRRRRRRRRAAAPE, the dingbat guided me right against the tire rail (on the passenger side, so of course I couldn't see it while I was driving) left some nice yellow paint along a 1/4 of the rim, and some nice scrathes.

I have some curb rash on my BMA stock wheels. It's noticeable, but not unless you're really looking for it. I had a steep learning curve that first month after driving a jeep for so long. Before I could park however I wanted to, you can't scratch sidewall
My dealer gave me some warranty on the tires/wheels... it wasn't the standard warranty though I don't think. Anyways, they said that no matter what I did to them, always say a pothole caused the damage. Nobody will replace them if they know you just hit a curb, which is driver error, but potholes are a road-hazard and there aren't any questions asked.... Haven't tried it myself yet, but maybe that might help ya.

I scratched my alloy wheels when the car was less than a week old [:@] Got too close to a curb. I started out with medium grit sandpaper to remove the scratches, then worked through finer grades to 1500. Then I hit it with a polishing wheel chucked up in a Dremel to bring the shine back. It removed the scratches quite well, but you have to be careful because you'll also remove the factory clear coat doing this and if you are polishing and hit the edge of the clearcoat it'll turn it black, then you'll have more sanding to do! Ask me how I know this

I'm curious as to how many have caught the front lip of the car on a parking cement thing or even a curb? I keep parking a bit back to prevent that as years ago I caught the Camero lip parking it in too close!
