Default AIRAID tune

Does anyone know of a tuner that can sell a SCT with tunes in it for the new AIRAID CAI,without the Venturi tube installed.I installed the Airaid I'm running it with the tube in it,but I would like to try it with out the tube, can't do that with out the tuner. The Airaid is 101mm without the tube.

I don't know much about air-raid but I will offer this advice.

Get an SCT2 tuner and have a reputable performance shop dyno tune your combination.

Fill it up with the gas you wish to use (87, 89, 91, or 93) and then have them tune the combo to that.

That way you should get a good tune that won't give you trouble.

Hope this helps.

I have the Airaid, have had since Nov of last year. I am very happy with it. I used the 91 and 93 DIablo tunes with no problem at all. If you remove the venturi, regardless of the programmer you decide on, you will need to have a custom tune done to set the long and short term A/F mixtures. Some companies sell both a street and race version of their CAI. With the Airaid you get both in one with the removable verturi. You did not make a mistake. It is a great CAI and my Diablo authorized tuner was very impressed with the extra power he made after removing the venturi and customising the tune. P.M. me if I can be of any more help. As for the programmer you choose, I will just throw in the fact that the Diablo Predator has worked wonderfully for me and I have been very pleased with it and the support from the company.

Do you have a ph.# for the Co. that tuned your AIRAID.One reason I bought the AIRAID is I don't have the option of a custom tuner close to were I live.Everything I read and hear is how much more power I'll get with a tune.Do you have any #'s on the power that you made.Thank's for the reply.

I was going to get the airaid also and tune it later. Couldn't find any tuners in San Antonio so I ended up getting the JLT + programmer (in the mail). I decided to get the programmer also because this throttle is driving me insane.

I have looked very hard to find someone to help me with my Airaid,I am going to throw it to the curb and start all over.I live in a remote area of OK. no tuners around.
I am going to buy a C and L with a SCT-2 and be done with it.I've been told that Airaid's claim with the venturi tube in,without a tune is not right. They claim 17 hp was told by a tuner that it makes about 3hp. I don't have any prove,I just don't feel much if any differ.at all power wise.

I had a 05 coupe bone stock,I traded it for a 06 vert.Added the AIRAID and SLP LOUDMOUTH axlebacks to the vert after 1000 miles,no HP# on either car,but just by seat of pants I thought the 05 and 06 stock was just as strong as the vert with the AIRAID.I think if you lived were you had a tuner local, the AIRAID would be great. The only concern I had about trying to get it custom tuned was the size of it,with the venturi tube in it is stock conf.with it out it is 101mm.And from what I know CandL makes a race version that is 95mm,and I understand that it's not the best for somewhat stock mustang gt's.Something about the larger the tube the air starts to slow down, right or wrong this is just info that I have gathered up since I bought my AIRAID.I ordered a C&L with tuner yesterday.I hope others are happier with AIRAID than I am.
