RE: 05/06 Bullitt styled
Firestang,
The new Charger R/T vs. Mustang GT has been done already (Motor Trend, August 2005). We won. [sm=happy046.gif]
I'm sure they'll do another round of comparisons when the new Shelby comes out...and we'll win again.
Back to the post: I like the project and the mocked up image...I even like the small chrome bumper strip, but there's something about the whole thing that leaves me flat. I think I would nix the chrome trim around the grill and give it that meaner stripped down look folks are talking about. The original Bullit did have that uncivilized, on the edge, "I'm gonna whomp on you any second now" sort of vibe.
Keep us updated!
Best,

Hey bud... you have to start with the color, right? Costs 20 grand to do a color change (lol) ...think about it... Hey any dark green metallic in 07 model? But seriously a Bullit has to be green just like the UPS truck has to be brown. (lol).

I think we're gonna start with the color, rims, and performance upgrades under the hood. I think just with those mods the car will already have that "Bullitt" feel to it. We just need to find a suitable grill that will delete the fog lamps. But keep up the input guys.

70 style mirrors are a must, but you got to use the vintage black shelby round bullet shape ones. I have considered trying to purchase a water damaged 05 mustang from the New Orleans area real cheep to rebuild into a bullitt clone. check out my website to see my current mustangs. http://yourpage.blazenet.net/gcoggins

I'm about to start roaming the web to look at what is available as far as vintage mustang sidemirrors. I think that touch could definitely set this car off quite nicely. Meanwhile, my friend said he found out from his paint contact that he could get enough of the color custom mixed to do the whole car for about 150. I don't know if thats a good price or not, so we'll double check with a couple of other sources. I believe that if we can get the color just right, it will announce what this mustang is quite quickly to any enthusiast that lays eyes on it Can't wait to see it done.
