Glad to see you back too, lost. Just thought you might want to know - Adam and I went over my car build for a couple hours yesterday and he REFUSED to put a meth kit on my car even though he has 7 kits on his shelves right now. Says although great for older cars, no one has been able to tune a meth injection system yet and he doesn't trust them right now.
Killer,

Remember what i said to a while back ago about the folks at Kenne Bell stating that one thing you never ever do these 3V's is to add a water/meth kit? maybe adam can speak with them about this (or maybe he already has) as to why you shouldnt be doing this?
I'm going to talk with adam on Monday and find out once and for all exactly why and I'll post back. Yeah, I remember that post too but that maybe Jim (Bell) was talking about specifically with the KB s/c but I'm hearing it's relating to these motors in general - s/c or n/a...

Have to take my daughter to a b-day party and she's throwing a fit cause daddy is STILL (lol) on the computer. I get a lot of fuel system PM's - so I will post a big dedicated fuel system thread early next week.

Well you could have told me that a year ago? Just kidding I have no idea where they are and I fly to SPRFLD every other day in my Helo so it was easy to see my car.

I do need help if you guys can on one thing. The car had CPR fuel rails. Now I was told they changed the fuel line to 1/2" and have the invoice for doing it but they didn't. With that said I had dual 255 pumps piggy backed in the tank. We blew up the boost a fuel on stock fuel fine to the front. This is for the guys that really know this stuff. The steel 3/8 line cones up on the left side of the engine next to the headers then changes to plain rubber line. On my car they left the stock rubber line and connected a braided hose to it then to a 150 degree fitting then into the front of the left fuel rail. If I need to explain it better let me know. Then the rear of the left fuel rail they jumped acrossed to the right side with 2 steel 90's and braided hose. I had 60lb injectors. My question is how much fuel pressure would I have had and should they have changed that rubber line? leaving out the blowner belt problem for a second. I'm asking because I was told they should have changed that line and all the fuel problem was on that side not to mention it blew a 10" hole though the front of the car when it broke.

Anyone know?

I don't know of any 42's out there. I think you have a choice 39 or 60 because of the pencil style. My GT40 use dual 42's per cylinder but they are a different style injector. I have about 6 months working on the fuel system with them. The 60's work great but if you let the car idle a lot it may tend to backfire. Mine did. The reason I ask is the Fire Tech for FC Customs said the car would have 40lbs of fuel pressure and the rubber line would be fine. My engineer contacted a couple companies and they thought the line would have to be changed just because its not braided and the car would be at 60lbs fuel pressure.

Who know's. I will make call's 2morow.

Sorry about the car . Glad your ok. You should take a car to Troy trepanier and have him build you a car. Its apparent you have the funds to have someone like Troy do it for you and he is in Illinois.

Buy the way do you happen to own other aircraft that might be at Capitol airport? There is a guy( I never met personally) but he owns a P-51 and I heard he is into cars too. I was told he has a GT and the vipers and stuff. Just curious..

Again sorry about the pony.

Your probably talking about Bill Frey. Oddly enough he owns 1st class air with two other partners and FC CUSTOMS who built my car. I think bill has a P51 and several other planes. I have one plane and the rest are helo's. You can't fly fast but you can take off and land anywhere.

Honestly I really like Steve Bash. I don't know him but I think he's going to build me basically a 07 Cobra when he's done.

Never heard of Troy trepanier?

Time will tell.

SkyCam ...Troy builds very nice custom rides just like Chip Foose.Youve heard of Chip right? Well any way he's up near joliet I believe.

I see the P-51 fly when I'm at the airport. I'm a member of the Air National guard unit there. F-16 maintenance. When you get your new ride I'll have to check it out. Maybe you can give me a ride in a 600 horse pony. I usually go to the Valcro cruise in Springfield and the Route 66 show downtown so maybe we'll hookup sometime. Any idea how long before you get another pony?

I'm just reading this for the first time. Glad to see you are back and recovering. Very sorry to hear about the stang and the whole ordeal for you. When I first started coming to this forum, I read much of what you had to say trying to learn about the limits of the application. I know these forums can be very frustrating sometimes because people can say some pretty stupid and mean things that for the most part go un-checked. I'm glad you and others stick it out though.

Just curious why they thought the fuel pressure would be 60lbs? I hope not because of the size of the injectors because that doesn't have anything to do with it. It is up to the regulator. The application you had setup would determine that. If not changed, it should be around 40lbs. What many like to do is increase fuel pressure at 1lb per 1lb of boost pressure. Did they install a pressure rising FMU or a high pressure regulator? If so, yes the line should have been swapped out. If they say the pressure would have been at 40lbs, they are probably right and didn't do anything to increase fuel pressure. -Joe

i totally agree...I know you said CK, that you'll post all the fuel issues in its own thread later in the week...and i think we ALL (or most of us) appreciate it greatly.

It's people like CK and SkyCam from whom I've learned SO MUCH valuable info on my car as well.
As far as those flaming people I apologize for them. You can't please everyone all the time. But I think I speak for 99% of the people here when I say we are all greatful that you guys put up with the small BS to put out all this great info.

Don_W was another one with a ton of good info. Haven't seen him around in some time. He kinda got flamed out too by the admins and a few others (if i remember correctly).

thanks again fellas.
