Escort 8500 X50...love it, it has definitely saved my skin several times in the last 2 months. Lots of "false alarms" in the city, but I've learned to distinguish the different bands/sounds.

Highly recommended from this Stang owner

Is it hidden or in plain view in your car?

passport 850 has my vote as well. Save me from two speed traps in a week. It has paid for itself. After two tickets in one year, only 10 miles over the post speed limit, because the cops love my lowered redfire 05 gt. You won't be sorry you bought it.

auto mags regularly do comaprison tests; maybe you can find one on google. The most recent one I read had the top 3 as the Escort 8500, the Valentine V1, and whatever is Bel's top of the line. Though each of these 3 will have their fans and their detractors, it sounds like they are so close that you can't go wrong with any of them.

I have the cordless Escort Solo S2, and I am very happy with it, but it does not perform as well as the corded units. The components that they use to reduce power consumption give you slightly less "warning" distance....

Its in plain view but the cord is hidden. Got the direct-wire kit and sold the cord it came with. Its hard wired to the fuse box. I'm working on a pic.

Escort 8500 X50, works wonders and helps so much, you just have to get used to the false alarm areas. Put it under the mirror and it blends in pretty well. Its definitely a good investment.

Bel RX65 here. Love it, it's one of the 3 best (valentine, escort, RX65 always the top 3 in diefferent order every time it seems), and I got it for $200 brand new on Ebay from a local dude, so I didn't even have to pay shipping.
