Default RE: Radar Detectors

One other note i would like to make ... never go cheap on radar detectors ... you definitely get what you pay for on radar detectors. Any of the ones that are cheaper than a 100 dollars ... you might as well just wipe your butt with it ... cause you would have wasted your money. I've had all sorts of radar detectors ... and the best ones i've come across are what everyone has stated on here ... bel, escort, and valentine. But, be sure to get the top of the line (or as close as possible) ... cause otherwise you will not get the range protection you need to slow down enough for a radar gun (TRUST ME ... i've had my fair share of tickets with cheap radar detectors ... they are useless). And if you notice the post above on the guy who had a bel sti ... you don't need that unless you live in the state of virginia ... radar detectors are illegal in that state (and that radar detector is undetectable). And as a side note on the range of escort, bel, and valentine .... you will laugh at how much time you get to slow down .... there have been a number of times i'm like where the heck is the cop ... and then i finally get to him half a mile down the road. The worst radar detectors i've bought have been cobra ... i literally didn't get a warning until i was looking at the cop shooting directly at me ... needless to say i got a ticket that day

Patience.....

I would love to get my hands on that laser jammer just to try it out for myself and see if it works as they say. You're right, vettes are harder to lock on and it looks in the video as if they're moving around which wouldn't allow a good lock. I'm not curious enough to spend that kind of money however. As my name indicates, I drive like a sunday driver (when I'm not working). If it works, it's a pretty reasonable price.

Some important things to note about the ticket payment that they offer; 1. They don't cover court fees which often are about 50% of the ticket cost 2. They don't pay tickets for more than 25 over (As a general rule I don't stop cars for less than 30 over on the highway...that's not a problem in the atlanta area 'cos there is no shortage of people driving 90-120mph) 3. They only pay for up to a year after purchase...if they're so confident, how about a lifetime payment program lol.

If anybody has one in the Atlanta area drop me a line....i'd love to test it out. Here's a pic of my nbors car that had the laser jammer....$1400 he spent for his (installed)

I have a top of the line digital Cobra, and have never even gotten close to being busted. Yes, it's saved my butt a million but just don't become addicted to it like me, when i drive in a car without it, i just get paranoid, i feel naked without it.
Well put some clothes on lol.

Passport Escort S7. It is hard wired and has 3 sensors that are placed under the front fender, and one sensor that is screwed on to your rare license plate. this cost me about $900 with installation, also you can get the laser jammer that attaches to the "brain" unit of the escort s7. I have had it for 15 months. I've had Ka bands detect from over a Mile away from speed traps, over hills, busy areas. It is very sensitive and can be placed anywhere on your dash or steering column for a discrete look. It is worth every penny.
