This is stupid; the kid has a nice car [sm=violin.gif]. Who cares, good for him. Why do people always have to get pissed, when it looks like the grass is greener next door?

Wow are you ever a megalomaniac, you honestly think I'm jealous of you because you will be running your own business? I have no idea how you are getting the idea my childhood was bad, and yes I donate to charity.

I think you've got some serious anger management issues if you're this up & arms over a few small comments, no wonder you have a psychiatrist's #, I'm sure you see him on a regular basis.

You guys ever stop to think that some families are just well-off? Who cares if someone's parents (mine included) can afford to buy their son a nice car? It was their decision - not the kid's! For christ's sake, your blaming the kids for their parents discretion (or indiscretion, as you'd all have it). Fact is, some families can afford it. Some adults have actually saved money and have some to spend - yeah saving...that's a novel concept in today's society. You guys need to give your parents a call or something...I don't know what the problem is, but there's no point in arguing. So what if the kid is 17 (I'm almost 19), he seems to have a grip on reality and is probably responsible. If he's like me, anyway. Oh well, have fun bickering back and forth.

p.s. I'd like to know why this is in the 2005-2006 section.[:-]

Its fun bickering, especially knowing this guy is outraged as he is. How could I a commoner, have such an opinion of HIM, a church going, business owning, future college student! All I was saying is that he is spoiled. Yes there are a whole lot of families financially better off than mine was when I was 17, and no, I don't really care, I had my fun in my dodge aspen, he's having his fun in his mustang.

He just can't seem to come to grips with the reality that he IS spoiled. It's not hard nostha, just admit it, any 17 year old with a brand new car he doesn't have to pay for IS spoiled.

Just because you didn't receive a nice car as a child doesn't mean you should rag on parents and kids for having them. Especially the parents who actually love their kids enough to do that for them. I guess your child won't be too happy when he see's his/her first car, although I hope your routine works out for the best but I won't put you down for choosing to not buy your children things.

Says the 17 year old. Apparently kids will turn out excellent if you just spoil the **** out of them.
my parents bought me a 2005 mustang gt. it was one of the first 2000 of them made and we ordered august 2004. i have driven it daily since it came it, and my dad pays insurance for me, though i pay for gas now.

guess why? first, for never fu(king up as a kid, staying in school, getting good grades, not smoking/drinking/doing drugs/having a kid, etc which are no more extreme than expectations placed on any other teen. second, because my dad came from nothing and he spoils me sometimes because he didn want me to have his life of dropping out of highschool, getting drafted and wasting 20yrs of his life in the military, having a kid too early, and not getting his **** together until late in life. and for the record, we are NOT "well off"

guess what? my car is not totaled, i go to the University of Southern Cali on full tuition scholarship, i *co*founded a car club, i started my own business, joined a frat, have done lots of community service, tutor kids and my peers, and have a 3.0 as a mechanical engineer.

damn parents for spoiling and ruining me, damn them
btw im not quite 20 yet, so im still that dirty lil spoiled teen...shucks[:@]

I admit...I'm spoiled rotten. It's not that hard to admit. It wasn't my first car, though. I think parents who buy their kids these as first cars need a brain scan - or need to donate some money to me. But that's a different story, I guess.

He should lighten up a bit...it's only an online forum!

Dude, that's not the norm...that's the extreme. You think all teens have unprotected sex, get wasted, drop out of school and join the army? You have a whacked out sense of reality, then.

you must of missed my frustratedly condescending sarcasm...it was supposed to show both extremes, so everything everyone is bickering about falls in the middle and seems logical. i guess i tried too hard then[:-]
