I have an opportunity to pick up a SCT Xcalibrator tuned by Steeda for $180. Deal? Or no Deal? Sounds pretty good to me.

If it's already been used I don't think you can use it on any car besides the original one.

That could be the catch. If the seller reloaded his stock tune back into his car, it'll work just fine. If he kept the Steeda tune in his car, his tune will still be in the SCT and you won't be able to use it.

True that. He says though he's detuned his car and it is no longer locked to the VIN. I had a Superchip tuner for my F-150 so I knew that deal.

It's a flash tool device. It reprograms you car's computer. (As opposed to replacing a chip.) This one comes with two tunes from Steeda. First is a 93 octane performance tune and second is a 93 octane performance tune for use with a CAI kit. The tune gives added performance and helps to erase throttle lag because of the drive-by-wire used on S197 Mustangs. Once you put one of these tunes in your car, your stock settings will be saved to the device and your car can be put back to stock when you want. The seller on this device claims it will add 17 rwhp with the performance tune and around 25 rwhp when used with a CAI.

Don't have the CAI yet. Will have to wait for a great deal on one of those now.
