Winter tires on Fanblades?

Winter tires on Fanblades?
So because of a miscommunication I ended up getting polished aluminum bullits instead of fanblades. I ordered the fanblades for about 750 +75ish shipping and figured I'd EBAY the 64w for a small loss no biggie. Fan blades came in, I put them on, and I liked them. But the bullits grew on me. The latter are loud and obnoxious, not my style, but I think they look a little better on the car and most people I know agree. The fan blades are more mature, less loud, more refined IMO. More my styl;e but probably not as aesthetically pleasing.
This is the hardest decision I've had to make on the car (thank god they didn't offer hunter Green this year). I put the Bullits back on now and will either a)return the fan blades for a 15% re-stocking fee (about 175 with shipping) or throw winter tires on em and keep both. Is this crazy or what? I have an SUV, and don't plan on driving in really bad weather but its my wifes and she needs it often and would be trapped in the house with the kid otherwise. If its bad but not too bad I figure winter tires and some sand bags should do wonders. Plus I get both sets of rims! The flashy 64w's for summer and the fan blades for winter.
Any suggestions? Also, Can I do a 235 55 18 or do I need to go to 50 to accomodate the 18" rims? Should I do 225?

RE: Winter tires on Fanblades?
U R right, unless a major snow storm hits, snow tires, sand bags and TC will do the job. Maybe, I'm getting old, but, I remember when RWD was the only thing on the road., and most folks went every where.
Well, in '66 the Toranado showed up. ( I don't know if that's spelled right)
