Default ping?

do certain brands of gas make your car ping? any brands i should stay away from? a local shop here in phoenix told me that i shouldnt use chevron because it causes ping? ive used chevron for a couple years now for my past 2 vehicles but should i stay away from them now that i have the new stang? what do you guys use?

I have used Sunoco and Amoco/BP with no problems

I doubt it. From what I understand gas is all processed the same way then sent to the company (Chevron, Mobil, BP, etc) and then they put in their additives like Techron or something like that. I have used Chevron no problem and thats in a turbo charged engine(WRX)....and in Florida where it gets quite hot. Usually I use Mobil or BP just because I pass them on the way to and from work. I do use 93 oct though. You can get a bad batch of gas where maybe the 93 octane is not really 93 but that can happen anywhere.
