Default Smart Box?? What exactly does it control?

Ok i have a pretty good understanding of what the smart box is. It is very similar in design to a GEM Module so can someone tell me exactly what the Smart Box Controls in the car?

Its the brain that controls most functions not involving engine and powertrain. It keeps you from locking your keys in the ignition, turns out lights when you leave them on etc...

Ok so it could also prevent the Remote Key Fob from working and possibly make all the warnings lights on the dash light up?

Yep this I know as well since my blinkers went all screwy on me. I sure hope this is not a sign of things to come with my car being only two weeks old.
