Wow, a vert in Alaska! The man's blood must burn with some sort of inner fire.

Welcome to the forums.

Up until the early 80's most everything was rear wheel drive, all sizes, all makes. Ppl made it around just fine.

Good snow tires, and some weight in the trunk, and the help of TC, you will do just fine.

Ask my "hero" Mike Hawke.

WOW Thanks Clu7ch!
Pictures can be very deceiving! Those mountains across the valley are about 11 miles away and and the peaks are less the 4,500 ft above sea level. The valley you see there is about 150' above sea level. One of if not the most northern part of the Pacific ocean is about 15 miles to the left in this picture, and the car is setting at about 1300' elevation. Here are my favorite pics I took that day because it was late in the afternoon and the sun was causing so much shadows. In these 2 pics the mountain in th back ground are about 3,500 ft at the peaks, and you can see the boss in one of them. I have to ask permission every time I drive her pony! lol
Sorry not meaning to highack the tread buy just trying to prove convertibles (or at least the 06 Mustang convertible) is a very capable winter car when set up and driven correctly. We in Alaska have the ablilty to run studded winter tires and they do help alot when icy condition arise.
