Default RE: Shift Lights

ORIGINAL: allfyre

You'l have to forgive me for not being a professional drag-racer but I found had a little trouble shifting at the right points on track night. I think the shift light will help.

With the combination of the helmet and the noise from the car in the next lane I couldn't hear all that well and I wanted to concentrate on making my run and keeping the car off the guardrails. I'd rather keep my eyes on the strip and off my tach, not that I really want to be processing numerical data at those speeds anyway. I'm looking for something more like "BLUE MEANS SHIFT!"
Don't appologize to the uninformed, this is exactly why professional drag racers use shift lights. Also, it takes too much concentration to look at a small factory tach that is buried deep in the dash, you need to be focused on where you are going. Listening to the motor isn't a consistant way to shift, your shifts will vary greatly even in the same run.
