No they were removed and they did the prep.
They sanded them and put the accelarator on then primed then painted then clearcoated.

Well, in any event your car looks terrific with the color matching mirrors. There should be no need to have them redone but if you ever do simply sand and bring in to the shop. I just know this:
1) I'm way too picky to let a shop smooth them
2) They can't afford (or afford to charge you) for the time consuming task of smoothening them to the point that they need to be.
3) See why I suggested you just bring mirrors in... ...never know what you'll get back from the shop. ...a scratch, dirt, mud, overspray from another job, dirty or punctured seat... oh it's endless, if you can just bring in a component to be painted w/o the car DO IT!

You will likely repaint one day way down the road; you can bring them up to a "10" at that point. ..for now you have a great look there.... enjoy!!!

For $50 they couldn't have smoothed them any. You can't get a painter to even open cans of adhesion promoter, primer, bas and clear for $50; never mind do anything with them. You sure they just didn't grab a DupLiColor aerosol can for yours? You're talking minimum 4 but more like 5 hours of prep. ...so at a conservative $50hr you're talking $200-$250 and nothing's been painted yet. The material alone will run well over $50 their cost.

For $150 mhahnjr got a steal and quality probably 90-95% of what a whole lot more money would get. Maaco couldn't do them for $50 in single stage urethane; and they have the lowest prices on the planet.

BTW: did you have the hood done at the same time? What did all your paint work include and cost you?
