I had just bought a 2006 mustang convertible last week. It makes this clicking sound not all the
time. The sound is maybe two or three minutes apart and i do not have my air con on.
Is there anybody out there with the same problem? Should i take it in for service or is this normal?

Prolly your fan. It's electric and once the motor is up to temp will cycle on and off. especially at slow speeds and idle (where you are most likely to hear it).

It is the ac compressor. It cycles every 15-25 seconds when the ac is on. Turn it off and see if you still hear the sound.

woooohoooo.....someone finally with the same problem (not that that's a good thing) lol...

Anyways, I had the same problem, took my car back 4 times to get it fixed. Finally they just so happend to find a TSB out for the A/C fan clutch assembly and some other garbage. Well four days later when i got my car back it was all fixed. I have a 06 gt'vert, and i could here that clicking noise over the radio and the wind. Wel, it's been about 2 weeks know since i got it back and I haven't heard any noises other than my exhaust gurgle. It took me more than a month to get the issue resolved but tell them there is a TSB out for this and they will fix it. He told me that this TSB was not going to stop the noises and that all mustangs make that ridiculously loud noise, but apparently he was wrong, she works like a champ now.
