Default spray paint

Has anyone spray painted there rear black out covers? I ordered a polyurathane one from 3Dcarbon and it came white. I thought it was comming matte black. Im probably going to have it professionaly painted but was wondering if anyone has used a matte black spray paint instead. I would think if you took your time and used the right paint it could come out OK.

Default RE: spray paint

I got the tail light bezels from Moss Motors. They are made by Auto Vent Shade so they were not
black. They were tinted, looks like the same as a vent shade. They had a white "AVS" on them.
It looked and felt like paint.
I cleaned them with an alcohol swab, sprayed them with Duplicolor Adhession Promoter, and put several
coats of Duplicolor Gloss Black on them. The black covered the "AVS" and you can't tell that it was there.
I let them dry overnight and them sprayed some clear coat on them. I think they look great. My dad
said that if I hadn't told him that I painted them, he would thought that they came that way.
I painted them in my garage so they would not get any lint, dirt or other trash on them. They were smooth
and I did not sand them. I'm sure you could do the same with the blackout cover.
Here are some photos. Sorry they are not the best quality, but I used my cell phone.
