I have leather (light graphite) and they don't seem to get that hot. The black and metal steering wheel on the other hand gets too hot to touch.

I'll go search for that "neat little thing you didn't know" thread. I saw it this morning when I found that link about the windows. That thread is how I actually found out what those little leather straps next to the seat were for.....(with the magnet clip....
Duh...)

$HIT!!! Mine is an 06 and doesn't have it. I tried it and it doesn't work on mine. What pi$$es me off is my wife's Honda Accord has it. We were walking toward her car and suddenly all 4 windows go down. I looked at her and said WTF was that? How did you do that? Then she showed me. Then I read this thread and oh well, I see mine ain't got it!
I coulda used it today!!!!!!!!!!! We were at the Dallas Zoo and it was a mite hot you can say (95°F) and the humidity musta been 80%!!!
Ran the A/C on HI all the way from the zoo until nearly Allen TX up US75. Was just getting "right" when I got off US75!!
Summer is here in TX folks. Actually it has been here 2 months already!!!

I have light graphite leather as well. Seats dont get too bad in hot weather. But the steering wheel and shifter. Ouch!! The dark exterior colors (vista blue here) always tend to turn the car into an big EZ-bake oven. White or silver cars always stay cooler.
Right after I leave work and pull out I must look real funny grabbing the steering wheel in any special way possible to avoid having my hands fried, people must see me and say "look how that poor disabled guy has to grab the wheel to drive, but man is that a nice car".

Actually Mythbusters did a show on this, they took two equal cars other than one was painted black and one was painted white and recorded the temperature throughout the day. The black got way hotter, way faster.

Sure. At work we actually just did a similar test for some military electronics enclosures. One black plasic, the other white. The black one was 20 degrees hotter after 20 minutes in the sun.
We want to use white to keep our electronics happy. But you know how the military is with camo. Black or green is what they want
