Happened to me and the dealer replaced the fuel pump. Problem solved!!

The computer may still hold the data showing that he was doing 110 mph. The service manager won't have to ask. Check out the owners manual. It informs you how the computer acts like a "black box" and it records information that can and may be used in accident investigations and the like. Data such as , speed, engine rpm, braking, etc.
