Default Door dings **** me off

Can someone tell me why I never got door dings in my 98 f-150 but they seem to be abundant in my $30k 2006 mustang GT?

The top one is a pick of the golf ball size dent on my driver side wheel well

This is my GT as of today: STILL STOCK! haha, I have the satin silver stripes, just haven't put them on yet.

The only sure way is to avoid all exposure to situations where you can get dinged......it takes alot of extra effort but is worth it. One year now and only one ding that I did myself.....

Wait till the new camaro comes out with those long a$$ doors. They used to be notorious for dinging cars. I don't have one single ding or dent on my 99 ford ranger, but I also park it out in BFE at work, i'll do the same with the mustang.

I can understand your frustration....

I had my car for only 3 weeks when I was hit by a shopping cart in a Target parking lot.... I had a paintless dent guy work on it (he was supposed to be one of the best in California) and he could not get it out. The dent was way too deep and cracked the paint on my car.....I am going to have to bondo and repaint the area to get the dent out...

The dent guy told me that basically to do that to my car, the shopping was pushed across a parking lot... Ford uses pretty strong metal when building their cars.

actually i just noticed you were in California too..

if your car does not need to be painted you might want to try this guy:

http://www.denttime.com/

(800) 420-DENT

I think his prices are about $125 to fix your car and according to the web site his work is guarenteed. $125 is a hell of a lot cheaper than what most body shops will charge you. I think his name is Mike (I worked with his partner in the LA area not Mike directly)... Anyway I know he does great work. He works on The Symbolic Motorsport Cars (Bently, Lambo, Ferrari, etc....) and there are a number of before and after picures on the site you can check out.

I just had my first dent removed by a paintless dent guy. There is a thread around here about it somewhere.

Had the car a month and bam it's dented.

I had the dent repaired and it looks perfect.

So yesterday I am at a local grocery store, parked in BFE all by myself.

I come out and there are no less than 5 carts scattered around the vicinity of my car. I can see from about 100 yards away that one is righht against my hood.

I get to the car and see that the cart has rammed into my hood and ripped my vinyl stripes in 3 places. I flipped.

I grabbed the cart and heaved it about 5 feet which is no small task since they are so awkward to even pick up.

My GF says, go complain.

I went in and found the bigwig on duty and he came out and examined the damage. He filled out some paperwork and told me the "risk management" dept would contact me regarding it.

It's only gonna be about $75 or so to have it replaced but it's just the point.

They better pay up.

Acctually if I was a car robber/vandalism I would really be attacted to a car under a cover.

I have a cure for those door swingers, one time someone told me that the lady with the Buick parked next to my Chevelle had hammered my car with her door. I took care of it personally, lets just say the quarter panel on that Buick no longer bow outward, I put the serious boot to it! Sometimes you can just tell by the car parked next to you what to expect, and I have found about 10 % of the time I have gotten door dinged, and if I find a chip on the edge of their door or worst my paint on their ride, they get a foot print in the door or quarter. I have had to do this maybe 3 time in 20 years, it is my way of taking it out on the a-hole who went out of there way to park next to me when I went out of my way to park out in the back 40. I do have one rule for this behavior, make damn sure they did it.

Buy a Viper 5000 2-way alarm for your baby and set it on the most sensative setting. If your car is touched, your remote on your key chain will beep and vibrate. Then you can run to your car and beat the snot out of the culprit or make them pay for the damage (granted that you are close enough to catch them).
