I've thought about that too, but I actually use my cup holders too! You'll come to find out that I am an ****, picky ***!

About the sound degradation though... the stereo shop I was at this afternoon said he could very easily wire the XT direct into the AUX port. No souond loss that way. Probably the same type of thing I had with my old Skyfi, audio was as good as I could want.

You know anything about aftermarket audio? Like if this is a good deck?

Sorry man, not an audio guy. Looks great, but what always concerns me is that these all say "add satellite for under 100 bucks..." to me, that means you still need an auxillary tuner like the Roady....I really don't know. But for that kind of money, I would want the satellite controls built in.....

Good Luck, and let me know how you end up....

Actually the "less then $100" unit they talk about is the a hide away reciever. All the controls are actually on the deck. The unit just sit in the dash.

I just installed the IVA-W200, PXA-H701, XM, 4 channel amp, and speakers. Still using the front and rear subs/amps. All is good except for my wife saying "I thought you were just going to add XM to your awesome SHAKER 1000?" I wish I had ordered my stang less radio, but it was a total impulse purchase on my birthday so what can you do?

The Alpine head unit is awesome, but adding the sound processor makes it truely audophile quality.

Good Luck!

To all who are interested:

I have the same set up as mlcrycc. He was very helpful in helping me get it installed (thanks dude). I did deviate from his set a bit but essentially it's the same. I will tell you that I surf constantly and with the unit "out" there is enough slack in the power and antenna cords that it works fine. FM transmitter works fine even inside the console. I ran my antenna down the inside wall of the console to the bottom of the backseat into the trunk and then back out at the top by the back deck/rear window area. I drilled exactly zero holes in my stang. I was done in 15 minutes and it works like a charm. This is definitly the install for me as I don't have some ugly crap on my dash, and I didn't buy a $1500 head unit.

I routed mine to hide the wires as much as possible. You will need to finese the wires in between the seams on the dash and run it down the side to the center console. You can buy an extension wire for your powerpoint for about $10. Run the extension from the console powerpoint under the center console and make a connection along the firewall on the passenger side. As you can see, the only wires I have lead from the seam of the dash to the XM. PM me if you have any other questions.

I got the XM after I got the head unit (Valor, I never heard of it either) but I have no idea whether it is XM ready or not. Probably not but thats the way to go (aftermarket XM ready).
