Default Whats wrong with my displays?

So today, I was messing around with my electronic display (you know, miles till empty, number of miles,etc...) And I noticed that ever since Ive had the car (since january) the Average speed ALWAYS says "23 MPH" and the MPG always says "17.1 MPG"

Whats wrong with it?

As time goes on it will be much harder to change the average; it's basic statistics. If you reset it, you'll notice your averages will be changing constantly at first then begin to settle on a number. Chances are, you'll average around 18MPG and 25MPH again.

But the thing is that I always drive around 45 on all my roads. And I have had the car for 6 months and 7500 Miles.

^ What others have said. I reset all of the displays every time I fill up. They do change substantially. I have learned that the display MPG is consistantly about 0.5 MPG lower than actual (higher when the tank is full, and then it starts to drop.) I run actual from the trip miles divided by the gallons taken on the fill up. Also, unless you never stop at a light or a stop sign, your avg MPH is always going to be much lower than what you actually drive on the road.

Just like Spartan said. It's an average of all of your driving since you last reset. One stopsign in a 45 zone will lower your average substantially. Think of all of the stops you make, and it makes sense. The 200 feet approaching and leaving a stopsign will take several seconds. Think how far you would travel at 45 over thirty-or-so seconds time. It would be much greater than 400 feet. Then consider waiting for the 3-4-or 10 cars in front of you at a stopsign and it really screws up your average.I probably could have guessed your average would show mid-twenties if you say you normally drive 45. Most of my driving is highway at 75 or so, but my average shows 40 and it was 39 for a long time.

Any clearer?

Like the others said, reset and the average will change more (but will also be less accurate until you get several miles on it).

Doesn't matter. Judging by the time in between refreshing, it seems the computer calculates your average every second. Image how many data entries you've made... billions or trillions, I don't know. So far it has logged your average as 23MPH, you'd have to be traveling 45MPH non-stop for a looooong time if you want to put a dent in that average... even so, you might just raise it to 24MPH. If you haven't reset it once, then you have way too many entries logged to change the averages; again, this is just basic statistics. If you reset the computer now, I guarantee you that it will change dramatically every second but it will slowly settle on a number that it likes.
