Crap, I stand corrected...my 4.6 3V is aluminum. Had to go outside and take a look!
Is that part of the reason that the GT-500 iron block car is so heavy?

Let me see: lighter car, 3.55 gear(vs. 3.31), more efficient screw blower...I'm starting to feel bett about all this money I spent!
Right, the engine is iron, same with the new cobras, along with beefier suspension adds the extra 500 lbs.

If your that into racing, why don't you just buy a fox body and hook that up instead of buying a $28,000 car and putting the cobra motor in? Better yet why not just buy a cobra if you want the motor so badly?

I understand shops doing the swap because they are sponsored and get all the parts dirt cheap.

J/W why you want to waste that much money when you can just get the cobra instelf or just add the s/c to our car...

Instead of an 03-04 cobra block try a 96-99 cobra or lincoln mark VIII block. They are lighter and stonger but will require modified motor mounts. I belive JPC racing either has or is working on a retrofit kit. Those block are supposedly rated to 900hp. A former member of this site has done this conversion and so far so good. I would tell you where to find him at but MF will just censor the website. But other than the block cobra internals seem to be pretty popular. Good luck
Thats what I was thinking too.. I was pretty sure the 99 cobra blocks were stronger than the 03-04 ones since I have seen those pushed farther.. I would think that if the 03-04 block could handle high boost it would have been pushed by now, but the highest Ive seen in the 600's where as I know of quite a few 96-99's that are 800+ but like others have said... unless you really plan on maxing this car out and making it just a track car, I doubt you need to replace the block.
I've seen quite a few T/Cs cobras pushing 800-900+ hp and as far as I know they are on stock blocks with built internals.

i dont know where you guys are getting your info from, but there are alot of HUGE hp 03-04 cobras. those motors can push at least 700hp on stock internals.

I imagine that the stock bottom end on the terminators can stand a bit of power but would you really trust it not to blow up better two spend two grand now than 5 grand later on cause you didn't want to build up your bottom end.

I know of a Dr. that has a 04 Cobra all stock internals ( Manley) that has a twin screw setup pushing close to 900 hp. ill site the site below. This is where i did all of my tuning for my 00 GT 4.6 to 98 4.6 Cobra swap.

I saw this car in person.. all i can say is bad ***.. and the Doc still wants more power out of it. Read the last paragraph on the page.
