The engine isnt driven by a cable like other/older cars.. meaning you cant get under the hood and pull the acceleration cable and rev the engine, its all computer controlled, so when you push the pedal down its transferred to the computer then to the engine. Hence the names "Drive by wire" and "Drive by cable"

Cappi-

try the recalibration thing-

turn key on(dont start) wait for lights to go out
depress pedal smoothly, fully to floor and release about the same speed
turn key off

wait a few seconds and repeat a couple times...this is supposed to recalibrate the pedal analog signal to the ecm, and the throttle servo feedback- made mine much better at first half inch or so of pedal travel and smoothed out the response in general- except the 6 second delay till engine braking on the highway seems 'set in stone'...hear that is to prevent high vacuum conditions that increase emissions or something like that...

cant hurt to try, sure helped mine.

I am now waiting again for another fuel pump to come in, hopefully this one will fit, but they told me when I come in tomorow they will make it up to me in a big way. That probably means something dumb like a free oil changes or something. I'm shooting for a supercharger lol (I wish).
So what did they give you? Free oil filter?

LOL ^^^ They gave me a $200 gift certificate type thing to the parts dept....(FRPP). I' not sure what I'll get, but the owner of the dealer himself gave this to me. It's not much but it meant alot to me that the owner was actually there after he realized what happend and sat there through this whole ordeal. I know the screwed up major but they made it all good, and they had 3 techs workin on my car he said, but that doesnt really matter to me. What mattered to me is that they realized what they did wrong and we're more than apologetic and did everything they could in their power to make it right. They even gave y car a full detail (not that it needed it), but it's the thought that counts. So I'm happy with them now, and it sucks it had to come to that, to gain a little respect and understanding from these guys.

Sounds like that all worked out very well...shouldnt have happened, but glad the dealer made no mistake about 'handling it' with the tech, and trying to make it right with you- sounds like a good dealer, and best of all- you are guaranteed next time you show up they will be extra careful
