Might be time to think about an aftermarket hood, since you're going to have to pay for new paint anyway. I wouldn't put vinyl stripes over the "X", it would surely show through.

My son's '99 Cougar had a brick through the rear glass on Sunday night. The car was sitting directly in front of my house at the time and I had just moved my Stang from the same spot about an hour before it was done. It's over $800 for a new glass from Ford. Nothing was taken from the car, it was pure and simple vandalism.

I'll shoot the bastard's if I can catch 'em.

It sucks that losers won't leave a nice car alone, but it's a fact of life. Sorry that crap like that happens. It's one of the main reasons that I object to appearance mods. Mustangs, especially new ones, stand out enough without more "look at me" additions and special plates. I don't even wash and wax my car if I know that I will be parking it in a public lot soon. Losers just want to **** with the nicest car they see, and if your car looks dirty or old, they just don't notice it as much. No reason to not have what you want, but beware.

I worry about this kinda stuff all the time - people keying it, denting, putting **** in the gas tank, smashing windows... Unfortunately it's a risk we all have to take I guess. Hope your luck turns around!

This is just an idea to make you feel better.
Go rent a nice car from some rental agency and get the full insurance package, then go and get an empty car stero box, something like an Alpine or equally expensive name and set it on the front seat of the car. Now place it on the passanger seat and and underneath it wire some sort of a circuit so its grounding out a electric current going towards a trigger and when the box is lifted the circuit isw no longer grounded and the trigger is activated. Now run that trigger to about 4 pounds of C4 located under the passangers seat with a blasting cap at the end of the trigger. Now lock the doors but leave the passanger window down a few inches (you dont want the window broken) you want the punk to open the door after he or she sticks there arm through the open window. Now when the door is opened and the box is lifted the car explodes and bye bye scumbag. And since you insured the car it will cost you only a couple hundred dollars to rid the planet of some scum instead of 40,000 a year to keep them in jail.

It is such a shame that people feel the need to do this. I never had a problem till i purchased a ford, my original 2000 V6 mustang convertible kinda got hit. I think it has alot to do with the ford vs chevy thing and people just take it to far.

But back to what happened to my 2000 stang. I parked at potomic mills mall here in VA, it was a hot, so i put the top up but cracked the windows about 2 inches on each side. I come out of the mall to find dried liquid all over my stearing wheel and seat. To make it short someone had pissed all in my car, what a-holes. After that day i never left the top down or left the windows cracked on that car, and with my new stang i never leave the top down or the windows cracked either.

Just goes to show you that there are A-holes everywhere, the more i read on this forum the more i think most chevy people are just low class, but then again if i went to a camaro board i bet you would see simular stories, so it just leads me to believe there are just a bunch of imature idiots running around.

Usually when this happens, you've pissed somebody off for some reason. Cut anybody off? Take their parking space? etc.?

I was with my children and wasn't even driving aggresively. The only person I know in the town I was in is my Grandma. I did give here a hug goodbye... didn't I???
