They will be a little stiffer because those have rod ends, if you call they can also set you up with poly ends. They are much easier to install then motor mounts and do the exact same thing, they will work just fine with long tubes and it will keep you from having to change your motor mounts for longtubes also.

Sounds good I think I am sold on the torque limiters. Sounds like if I have these I will not have to buy motor mounts and it sounds like they will do exactly what I need.

If I went with the polly setup will they still completly remedy the shifter problem?

I am thinking the rod ends might be the way to go because I want to fix this and never deal with it again. I can live with a slight vibration.

I can't tell if those are absolutely solid or not, but if they are and you still have the factory motor mounts. Plan on breaking the mounts on the trans. Usually shops and store will alert you if you need something else to go with it. But I didn't see that on that page.

Yeah you may be right I was looking and found some bushings for the brace that say they work with the stock motor mounts, but that is another $75. Since there is no mention of the stock mounts without these bushings I bet you are right.

Bushings

I emailed them about it

I received an email back. It has rod ends on the transmission side and poly bushing on the other. It can be ordered with 2 rod ends as well. his message read:

Ricky,

We have run our K-Member Brace with integrated torque limiters on both of our shop cars since NMRA Bradenton 05’. Our GT car goes consistent 1.4’s in the 60, with the stock motor mounts and we have experienced no problems. The standard brace includes rod ends on the transmission side and poly bushings on the brace to dampen some of the noise. The limiters are available with rod ends on both sides, but it does transfer some noise into the car. Hopefully this helps.

Thank you for your interest in our products,

You do have me a little nervous though Sidwayz. That seems like alot of load for 2 bolts to hold.

I have over 4500 hard street miles and about 20 drag strip passes on my car with the rod endend torque limiters. Typically the only problems with mounts comes when you use a transmission mount that is stiffer than the engine mounts and typically that causes the transmission to break bellhousings and/or cases. I have run solid engine mounts with stock trans mounts on several cars with no problems.

Hey Sidewayz6.0, what's up with the Pontiac GTO? Or is it a grand am with hood scoops? Either way, what are you doing on a mustang forum when you drive a Pontiac? Just curious. . .

I personally wouldn't run them without a solid motor mount. Although, those are cheap and not hard to replace. I dunno, I'd do some more research on it.

Through talking with 1QuickShortBus and Mike @ Powerhouse, I beleive this mod will be safe. The main reason I came to that conclusion (Other than I do trust these guys know what they are talking about) is I verified the torque limiters mount directly to the block. I can not see the loads becomming high enough to fracture the 1" deep threads in the block. My initial conserns stemed mainly from the thought that it bolted to the bellhousing alone and that it held the motor by the transmission. I will be ordering a k-member torque limiter very soon. Then hopfully shifting will be as smooth as glass or *** whichever you perfer.
