Empty works similar to Full on the gauge. If you completely filled your tank, it will still show Full after 1 - 2 gallons have been used. Likewise, when a tank first shows Empty, you still have 1 - 2 gallons.

400 miles is plenty, you should stop and stretch your legs anyway.
True... my record no stop stretch is well below that at 250 miles. But I dislike fuelling up a lot of times on long road trips. (yeah yeah, I should have gotten a diesel).

Happy Friday!!!

Tuesday I got the gas station right when the meeter hit zero and it had filled up with 15 galons so that makes it exactly 1 galon left, I use 87 too.

Just so you know....

It is VERY BAD to run her down to 0 miles and then keep driving for another 15 miles.

You get "floaties" in your gas. It can't be stopped, they just happen. and running her down to the bottom allowes those floaties to get stucked up into the fuel system. Floaties are NOT good for fuel filters, pump roaters, injectors, piston rings.
