Default RE: Paint quality

I must have got lucky, because the quality of the clear coat black on my 07 GT is what first made me look at it. I did notice if I looked in the right angle and in the right light, two small light spots about an 1/8 " in diameter. Maybe there trying harder in 07, since sales are so low. Seperatly, I will mention that tomorrow "Thursday", I am going to my dealer to have my driveshaft replaced. I had it in the shop last Saturday for its first oil change at 1.500 miles. I never run a new break in engine any farther than that. But there was a very slight humming and vibration at times at 65 to 70 mph.

I had the shop forman drive the car while I rode the first time in the right seat. Long story short, he agreed with me on the vibs, even though it was barley noticable, It was'nt right. He checked with Ford and found an "SSM" Special Service Message on this very problem.

My fresh new super balanced drive shaft arrived within 48 hours! Pretty good I think. Got any strange vibes in your 07? They have the cure....free.

My 2003 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer had bubbling of the paint/corrosion on the hood. Body shop manager said it was due to the aluminum hood and that the primer was not applied correctly. Said he had seen it a lot and he didn't give me any problems. Fixed it under warranty and it looked like new afterwards. Only had 24k miles on it and about 6mo's left on the warranty. I'll be keeping a close eye for any corrosion on my Mustang...

Other than that I had to take a clay bar to the top of my car because somehow it had little specs of road tar all over the car. Not sure if it happened at the dealer's lot or during the 300 miles I had put on it, but it was tedious work.... you could only see it if you got up real close, but now it looks/feels great/smooth...

No issues here on the '06, although my '05 had tons of swirl marks on it when I bought it(overzealous teen prep. kids I'd say), they gladly rectified it before delivery.
