Don't worry, he basically states that they will be offering a new model of mustang every year. In 2008, it will be the Bullitt. (there is no picture of the mustang)

I can't get it to run, video screen is visible, says ready. When I select play it attempts to reload.

RE: 2008 Mustang Bullitt!!!
I wish with some of the whining that goes on around here (man I can't get my motor) I would have bought another kind of car then I could here what a great car it is,what a great job the makers of the car did. Instead I hear complaining about what they sould have done. God grow up, if you don't like the car get rid of it. I hear that the most anticipated car in years is a 90K POS (most experts even car and drive call it an instant classic), I hear that due to the fact I don't have a V8 my car isn't a real mustang....WTF maybe we should start a thread or better yet a Mustang haters club for Mustang owners only....how would that be?

RE: 2008 Mustang Bullitt!!!
Lets only hope that every new model, whether it be Bullitt, Mach I, Boss, and so forth... Actually makes it worth having other then just having the name. Basically making it almost completely different from a GT. Naturally the Bullitt will/should come in one color. Some exterior touches that another shouldn't have, some suspension and engine upgrades.
If I had to guess what Ford had up their sleeve, this is what it would be. Bullitt came out in 68, so it doesn't quite fit in with our 64 styled retro stangs. A 68-70 styled Mustang will probably be introduced in 2008 as a 2009 Model. The base would most likely be a fastback, with the Bullitt being the big brother. Shelby will probably continue on making the Cobra, but it'll be in like it's own seperate world. Shelby isn't trying to make the Cobra look retro, they are just taking the S197 and doing with it what SVT has been doing with Cobra's for all these years. (That could change as ford continues to introduce the styles from our past.) A 68-70 styled Mustang will also open the doors for a Mach I, and Boss. Which could be why we haven't had one yet. Ford might have realized how good of a job they did, and decided to keep with the Retro and outdo themselves...
That's my .02.

I am hoping they will go for the more aggressive styling of the 69 fastbacks. And please, make it a true fastback... THAT would be awesome. Also I would like to see the rear fuel cap become functional again. it would be the ultimate retro touch. Plus you never park on the wrong side of the gas pumps.
Ford does need to give the specialty models a little more horses than the specialty ones currently have. I mean, 325 vs the original’s 300 is kinda “cheapâ€, and doesn’t justify the increase imho. 350 is the number I am looking forward to. The inevitable mach1 and boss can go play in the 375-425 ranges with a N/A 5.4 block. The Cobra can be the big stallion at 500+.
They should also consider building on demand, not just pump out specialty mustangs by the dozen. People who order one most likely want it tailored to their personal wishes; ford would be wise to play into that.

I think theyre doing something good but.. just kinda stinks at the same time IMO... what happens to all of us who have GTs now that cant buy another car when these come "better models" come out? We just get stuck with "the little mustang" Were going to have to do some serious engine mods just to be able to keep up with stock newer models.. sounds like a lose-lose to me (for current owners at least, buyers will be happy and I think the new models will sell like hotcakes). I liked the 2001 Bullitt in the "highland green" or whatever they call it, and wished we would have had that color option on our GTs, but I guess theyre preserving it. I think we all just need to win the lotto, then we can all have one of each Mustang (or multiple for those of us who like to tinker)
BTW, is that a blower strapped to the top of Fords new "niche" engine?

RE: 2008 Mustang Bullitt!!!
IMO, Ford will sweeten its product offering each year in anticipation of the Camaro/Challenger being released. Also, IMO they will not be making drastic changes to the S197 body, as it has been very successful for them. It will be similar to the change made for the 1998 models to the 1999's. So, assuming the rebodied S197 comes out in 2009, Ford will repeat itself by introducing specialty Mustangs like they did with the New Edge Bullitts & Mach I's prior to the big change made in 2005. That way they keep interest in the current design prior to the 2009's being released.
Whether you like the new Camaro/Challenger or not, competition from them will force Ford to up their offering to stay competitive. Let the Pony Car Wars begin again!!!
Again, this is just speculation on my part...
