Another First Speeding Ticket
I just got pulled over about 30 minutes ago for doing a 76 in a 55 which I believed to have been a 70. I was not only in the right lane but being passed by other vehicles. I was a complete gentleman with the police officer telling him it was my first time in the area and I was unaware of the speed limit and was not paying attention to how fast I was going. I apologized he acted nice came back after I had given him my license and registration and said 76 in a 55 go to court and fight it or pay the $200 fine, have a great night.
Whatever I guess, no points on my license I can do the online course just sucks I have to pay a $200 fine... [&o]

I honestly was more pissed off that police officers have this time to waste when they can be doing something more productive. I've always felt this way not because of my ticket, but him being a jerk I really hope comes back to him in a more consequencial manner. I guess you could say Karma for being a jackass?

I've had 6 tickets in my life and paid every one of them and never got mad at the officer for giving me one. I got just as many, if not more, breaks. But, that is how I was raised, you break the law, you get caught, you pay the fine/do the time. 1mph over the speed limit is against the law. I had a friend in college who ALWAYS drove the speed limit because he said anything more would be breaking the law. Admired his character...
Did I like paying the fines? No, but I got mad I got caught, sometimes mad at myself, but not mad at the officer for doing his job.
And I've seen enough accidents, some fatal, caused from speeding, drinking, and talking on a cell phone to know that speeding tickets are just as an important part of an officer's job as anything else.
But that's just my opinion/experience.
Pay it, consider yourself lucky you're still alive and have money to pay tickets and drive a nice car, don't get caught next time, don't hurt anyone, and be safe.

Yeah, I know, I've had 6 tickets! By the time I was 20! Only 5 were for speeding! One was running a red light and my mom was yapping in my ear and so she felt bad and paid it for me.
But I'm older and wiser now. I go with the flow of traffic for the most part. I always looked at paying a ticket as a tariff for speeding. If you could drive how ever fast you wanted for one year and only had to pay $150-$200, would you do it?
It's when you get two or more in one year it isn't such a deal...
