HELP! RETURNED EVOLUTION TUNE TO STOCK...
And now the car barely runs, rough idle to the point of the front end shaking. No way I can take this in for my 5K service like this! I have to go back to the tune to even drive it there.
People say to flash back to stock before going in for any service, but the car will be idling so bad and/or stalling, the dealer is going to pulle codes!
WTF do I do now? I'm supposed to take it in tomorrow.

Guaranteed it's not the C&L. The car should run just fine with it on. If you floor it with it on it might throw a CEL b/c of a lean condition but that's about it. It's quite possible you need to have the dealer reload the stock tune. In fact, you can bring the car to the dealer with Fred's tune in there and they will flash it to stock for you automatically sometimes.
Alot of people will keep the performance tune in there when they bring it to the dealer, it depends on what you were bringing it there to have done. If it's, say an oil change or something just keep Fred's tune in there. The worst that can happen in that case is they might just flash it back to stock for you. If so, when you plug in your programmer it will re-download the new stock tune and youo should be good to go.

I was told that if the flashed my tune back to stock, that would be the end of my tune? The car runs fine with the tune. I put the stock flash back on there and the car struccles to even stay running.
whoa.......so when the tuner downloads the stock tune for the first time you cant use it after that? i dont get it. I understand that his car isnt running the same when he flashed it back to stock. But is it because the computer is use to the custom tune? i dont know now i dont really want to get a tuner and a tune[
] Plus if he takes it to the dealers wont they void his warranty?

No, that won't be the end of your tune. You'll still have it in the programmer. You may need to send it to Fred and have empty your stock tune that's in there, but that's about it. Really, it's not as big of a deal as you think, you'll be fine. I would keep Fred's tune in there and just tell the dealer you need a reflash, they'll look up your VIN and do it if they're cool. In fact I wouldn't even thell the service rep, I would grab the tech that's about to work on you car and "Pull him aside".
how will that not void his warranty? or is it because there is nothing wrong with his car? now if something did happen to his car they could void it because he has a custom tune?
Besides idle, how is it on a rev?
Try putting the back of the car up on jack stands so you can put it into gear, give it a little bit of gas. See what happens. Could be temporary and after driving for a little will function properly? Dunno.

Well nothing is wrong with his car. What's wrong is something with the stock tune in the tuner. If you're really worried, call FRED. I'm sure he has a fix for it, he probably has files for the stock tune and can reprogram it back. Besides, 5K mile service??? Give me a break, just change the oil in you driveway for pete's sake, that's all they're gonna do. Everything else is BS. Keep Fred's tune in there until you call him. He'll tell you what to do. When he does, post back, I'm sure others here would like to know if this ever happens to them. Good luck buddy!
