Any of you guys take on an ls1? Stock, who won, ??

 

Assuming both drivers are good, I think the LS1 would be a bit quicker.

 

A guy at work has a 2002 SS automatic and my mods are listed in signature, who would win?

 

Is he stock? If so it would probably be close, with him winning by a bit. They just have a superior powerplant, that repsponds a lot better to mods, so if he's not stock, I'm afraid it wouldn't be too close. I still think our cars are better looking than the LS1's though.

 

I beat an auto tranny '02 ls1 trans am from a dig in the 1/8mile by about 3cls. he claimed to be stock but i later found out he has an intake and generally runs 13.2s in the 1/4.

He was spinning tires all the way through second, while I had a good launch, so it was probably a case of beating the driver rather than the car.

 

Stock for stock.., plan on losing unless the other driver can't drive. I owned a 6 speed LS1 Firebird, definately was the faster of the two.

 

LS1's generaly have ~300 whp stock. Our mustangs have around ~265.

A cai+Tune and you are just about even with whp.

 

F body is a high 12/low 13 second car, s197s are high 13s, and for the trannys on the fbodys, the 4L60-E is just as quick as the stick, change the gears they will be faster, add a kit and a high stall they will blow them away

 

01-02 LS1 will put down 310-315 rwhp and my money is on SS!!

 

i ran mid 13s with my stone stock S197 and with DRs i am at low 13s easily.. s197s are not high 13s that is just avarage drivers.. LS1 avarage driver mid 13s!
