I had an '89 5.0 ragtop for many years prior to getting the '06. Loved it...never tired of driving with the top down. The '06 is such a superior design......you are gonna love it (though hopefully the weatherstripping will keep quiet for longer than the '89 weatherstripping. That car was horrifically loud with the top up....from all the wind noise. I put on flowmasters with the hope that the exhaust drone would drown out the wind noise....

We have 2 S197 Verts and love them both. I made a statement after just a few days of owning our 06 Convertible Mustang,, "IF this is how todays convertibles are built I have no desire to buy a coupe again." We have driven our convertible in temperatures below -30F and fan was on 2 with heat just into the red. (around 1:00 on the ****) We wash these cars more then twice a week on the average and only 3 times have either car ever leaked. Each time it took a quick roll down the window an inch and wipe the rubber/foam seal right where the windshield and top rubber/foam over lap and roll the window back up, leak stopped before the next pass of the carwash. Yes these cars are new so they shouldn't leak I know this and will watch it closely.
What I have found is the trim or edging on both sides of the top of the 06 is starting to crack right where the top makes two tight 180 degree turns when it's in the down position. Local Ford dealer has never seen it and are not sure if it'll be covered under warrenty... hmmm I buy 2 cars from them in one year and they may not cover a wear on a top that is less then a year old..... I hope they change their mind before we get the urge to buy another car. Or we'll take our green else where. It's not real hard to keep me happy.... 05SDI

I love driving in the rain! It's pouring in MD and is supposed to all weekend, a nor'easter. It's like driving in a tent. Woo

Off the subject but since all these vert guys are here I figure why not. How much HP add ons can I go before worrying about stiffening up the frame? Will I be okay with CAI/Tune and maybe O/R H-pipe?

lol! You'll be fine with those mods!
I only laugh because I'm pushing around 540!
These new Mustangs are far more rigid then any mustang convertible before them and maybe any convertible at all! These verts trully are nice cars!
