Shifter Problems

Shifter Problems
Hey guys. My 06 GT is my first car w/ a manual transmission, and I am having problems w/ the shifter. It seems like when I want to go into first gear at a stop it just wont, or it will jam and make a weird buzzing sound. I have the clutch all the way in when I do this, but the problem persists. Is this somthing a new short throw shifter should fix, and if so, do you guys have any reccomendations?

RE: Shifter Problems
I was having the same problem with the stock shifter. If I came to a complete stop with the shifter in neutral it was very hard to get it into 1st to take off. I could get it into 2nd with no problem. I would have to put it into 1st before I came to a complete stop. I had the Hurst Short throw installed last week and I have not run into this problem since. Not sure if the short throw helped but it is nice.

RE: Shifter Problems
How often does this happen?
If your syncro was bad, You wouldnt be able to get it into gear.
Mine does this occasionally, not very often.
Try this:
In neutral, let the clutch out and let the tranny spin for a few seconds, push the clutch back in, and try again.
Or, with the clutch in, go into second and third or whatever..pop into a few gears to move things around, and try it again.
If this doesnt help, try the dealer.
If all else fails, you CAN start in second. You'll just bog for a little bit.
