Default Horrible Car Crash!!!!!

I have some stang friends that subscribe to dfwstangs and sent me to this link to see the pictures of a horrible crash that killed a 16 year old passenger......I share this not for the graphic picture but because it breaks my heart to no end that these kids dont respect the power these muscle cars can put out........to add to this tragedy, the 17-yr old driver was intoxicated.....I shared this with my sons to help them realize that they dont have to be driving to be killed in a car like this or any other muscle car!!!!!!!!!!!!![sm=smiley19.gif]

Read the story.....then see the pictures.....

"Here's the story that I got from the Investigators. Residents reported that a white 2 door had been speeding around a neighborhood after midnight. From the tiremarks at certain intersections it was apparent that the car had been driving in a circuitous route at high speeds and sliding or "drifting" around a few wide corners. One side road ended in a "T" and had a 4 foot hedge along the opposing sidewalk. There were no skidmarks at this intersection.
The vehicle plowed through the hedge and headed through a yard and chain link fence towards a home. It impacted the side of the home at about a 30 degree angle below a window.
The windows were equiped with what are known as accordian-style hurricane shutters. These sit in a metal box attached to the exterior wall until needed.
The front passenger quarter panel hit the wall first. It was estimated to have been traveling about 75 mph. The passenger's head was knocked out the open window and onto the concrete and the metal shutter housing.
As the vehicle's momentum carried it down the house's wall, the head was dragged too.
As it travelled towards the rear of the house it wiped out the home's central A/C unit and a garbage recepticle and came to a stop.
The 16 year old passanger died instantly, while the 17 year old driver, being intoxicated, was barely injured and had no memory of the accident afterwards.
The 17 year old driver was not only charged with DUI manslaughter, a slew of driving infractions and who knows what else, but he'll also go through life knowing that he killed his best friend.

(I have removed the last pic because it has offended a forum member and that is not the purpose of this post-I apologize)(there is a thumbnail below that is small enough not to show close detail)

That's messed up, it's amazing how some people think they can do stuff like that with out repercussions. I lost friends in similar acts of stupidity and I have "friends" that drink and drive every weekend and they won't stop so I refuse to ride with them anywhere. It makes no sense to put so much on the line for a little fun.
One other thing, those pics are really small, can't really see anything.

That was a good thing you did sharing the details with your sons. All of us thought we were invincible at that age and I was no different. There aren't that many decisions we make that make such an impact later on in life, but this is one of them. If you've got that kind of car there's a place and time to use it. Never use it DUI or you can DIE.

Yes, I concur, we've all been lucky at one time or another. These situations are avoidable, but they, tragically, still happen[&o].
I can only imagine the parents of both boys, what they must be going through. A young life lost is the worst we, as a society, can witness. All the dreams, desires, accomplishments and experience life teaches are all gone in the blink of an eye. Thank you for sharing, not only with your sons, but with this Mustang community as well.

I can say this, Im extremely proud of my oldest (18-yrs old) (aka Nitestalker forum member). He has never had a ticket and takes car of his stang like it was gold. He washes 2-3 per week and waxes once per week. When he wants to race, he takes it to the drag strip and has a blast. He tells me all the time that driving like an idiot is not worth loosing his car that he loves so much!!! I think he has the concept of riding with stupid people too. He's seen enough of this kind of stuff that I think it scares him sometimes and I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH THAT!!

Thanks all!!!

That last pic was a tough one to see. I didn't realize the passenger was still in the car[&o]
